Sexual Orientation: The Rights and The Wrongs
As you can see from the video, this topic has been heating up in North Carolina. And as of today NC Senate approves putting gay marriage amendment on 2012. Just like any other topic here in the Dubb Spot we don't have a clear answer on the right's and the wrong's. So many areas to discuss for us to have a concrete answer. Some debaters are comparing the Gay pride movement to The Civil rights Movement, what do you think!?!?
You have those who those who believe heavily in the bible and say same sex behavior is not accepted. Then you have others who say Jesus said nothing about same sex behavior.
Then there is the argument that the lesbian community is more accepted than the gay male community.
This is definitely a touchy subject... What do you all think about it!?!?

I have mix signals about this topic. Although I believe that marriage should be between a man and woman. I can't judge. To each it's own
ReplyDeleteI can't say that this Gay Pride is anything like civil rights... But the hare crimes against these children isn't right at all. I've seen too many times on the news of kids being hurt or committing suicide because they don't feel like they belong
ReplyDeleteI believe that marriage is the union of a man and a woman. This is a tough issue but to compare this to the civil rights movement is a stretch. I mean in 2011 the GLBT community is more accepted now than ever before. With the election year coming up, this will be a critical talking point in attempts to get votes.

ReplyDeleteHonestly I dont know hot to feel about this situation. I mean im all for people doing what they wanna do but on the other hand I dont wanna see two people of the same sex raising children...especially to men raising a little boy. As far as they gay movement being compared to the civil rights movement...as a black person I am disgusted that someone would even let that thought cross their mind.
ReplyDeleteA hermaphrodite is an organism that has reproductive organs normally associated with both male and female sexes. This only occurs in nature among plants, certain types of snails, and occasionally in humans. For the purpose of human reproduction it is a must that you have a female seed and a male seed. If humans were inately born to be attracted to the same sex we would all be hermaprodites. The reason GOD made us either male or female is not only to reproduce but to reproduce out of love. Man was made in HIS image, and woman made from man's rib. I feel ANYONE who believes that the bible is the unfalliable word of GOD cannot agree with same sex anything. Its blatent hipocrisy. Jesus did not mention anything regarding same sex in the New Testament but if you read Leviticus where all the Old Testament rules are laid out you will find that GOD does not agree. You see what happened to Lot when he got drunk and laid with a man(if you dont know what I'm talking about please read the bible for yourself and stop just opening it on sunday for service). The fact that this perversion is so widely accepted now is proof that the devil is always at work.
ReplyDeleteWe all know that a hermaphrodite has no choice when they are born that way. So what do you say to the gay people that say they are born that way and that it is not a choice? I mean I see them in church priasing right along with everybody else. I guess the devil at work in church 2 right?

ReplyDeleteMISS_HNIC is totally correct it does speak about Homosexuality in Leviticus and how "MAN" should not lay with "MAN"...and ("MAN" refers to Mankind male/female) and people seem to forget that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah b/c of sexual immortality(homosexuality)...I can not judge anyone who walks this green earth..but I can say that I can not agree and will not ever agree with SAME SEX MARRIAGE....My Bestfriend is Gay and I love her dearly but i believe even she believes that two people of the same sex should not wed...Also for them to compare it to the civil rights movement is a Disrespectful not only to me but my Ancestors...

ReplyDeletewell... i must say i have plenty of G & L friends, & for those who dont know my brother is gay who i love, accept & respect dearly, but as a christian i dont agree with the whole same sex marriage deal nor raising kids there are positives & negatives to the situation. Now i do believe that there shld be laws prohibiting these kinda marriages but i also agree that there shld be some type of recognition whether common law marriage with the same type of benefits (health, life etc) that heterosexual marriages have. As a christian i can nor will i judge anyone who leads this type of life style & chooses to pursue avenues of marriage or a union because lord only knows if i JUDGED then everyone & they moms wld have ALL THE RIGHT IN THE WORLD TO JUDGE ME FOR MY IMPERFECTIONS, FLAWS & CHOICES I HAVE MADE IN MY LIFE... ULTIMATELY I BELIEVE that the INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE SHOULD BE BETWEEN A MAN & WOMAN...AS FAR AS CIVIL RIGHTS WELL...I DONT THINK YOU CAN COMPARE APPLES TO BANANAS...NOT THE SAME...JUST MY POV
